Product Description

Sealed in original plastic RIAA Gold award for Limp Bizkit's debut album Three Dollar Bill, Yall$ presented to Primus. The album was released on July 1, 1997 and was certified Gold on March 2, 1999 by the RIAA.

Singles "Counterfeit" and "Faith" (a cover of the George Michael song) launched the group's success. This award was presented to Primus likely because they appeared in the Fred Durst-directed video for "Faith" and they were also tourmates early on. After topping the Billboard Heatseekers chart, that album peaked at #22 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. By 2001 the album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for two million sold. See image above for all the RIAA sales certifications of this album through the years*.

Detailed Item Description: This is a new, sealed in plastic RIAA Gold award was manufactured in 1999 making it 23 years old. It is presented to the group Primus, who appeared in the Fred Durst-directed video for the album track "Faith".

While never unwrapped, it has a scratch on one outside edge and possibly a minor mar or two where the shrink wrap is torn on an edge or two but is essentially brand new otherwise. The award was made by Ill Eagle Enterprises, whose label is on the backing paper. Note that all photos are taken with the new plastic shrink wrap intact so the images are somewhat distorted.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.

Finally, a word on photos: Our photos are zoomable so you can get a very good look. Do let us know if you want photos of any other details on our pieces and we'll be happy to provide.
