RIAA Platinum Album Award for Journey album Evolution. Released on March 20, 1979, the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA on Oct. 19, 1979 for one million copies sold.

The album, the group's second last to feature both Greg Rolie and Steve Perry on lead vocals, featured the singles "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' ", "City Of The Angels", and  "Just The Same Way".  The album went to #20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart in the U.S. By 1991 the album was certified 3x Multi-Platinum. Detailed Item Description: This is a RIAA Platinum Album award that would have been manufactured in 1979, making it approx. 45 years old. The award is presented to Phoenix, Arizona area radio station KDKB.

It is in Good to Very Good condition with wear on the frame, a faded matte, some scuffing on the presentation plate, and minor mars on the plexiglass. It has all original components which show it was made by Creative Glassics, but the award has been rebacked.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
