RIAA Gold Album Award for Danzig self-titled debut album, released on Aug, 20, 1988, and the EP Thrall-Demonsweatlive, which was released on May 25, 1993. The debut was certified Gold by the RIAA for 500,000 copies sold on Mar. 11, 1994.*

The debut album from Glenn Danzig's namesake group, and the first release from Rick Rubin's Def American Recordings label, included "Mother", the live version of which became a hit on MTV. It also peaked at #43 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #17 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. The album reached #125 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. The Thrall-Demonsweatlive EP contained three more studio tracks and three performances from a Halloween 1992 concert at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in California.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold Album award would have been manufactured in 1994 making it approximately 30 years old. It is presented to Bruce Gillmer, who has been an executive at MTV and Viacom for several decades.

The award is in VG condition, with only minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. It is all original with Ill-Eagle Enterprises manufacturer's sticker on its back.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear.
